The Red Raider Plate is a simple picture to explain what a balanced diet looks like. It can be challenging living on campus and knowing how to eat a balanced diet when it may seem like there are millions of voices telling you how and what to eat.

Why would I use it?

The key with the Red Raider Plate is to give you a foundation to build your meals on and to provide you with an array of nutrients and flavor. With this helpful guide, you no longer have to question how much protein, grains, fruits, vegetables, or fun foods you should include on your plate.

How do I use it?

Use this as a guide when deciding what to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Try and eat similar amounts of each nutrient that is given on the Red Raider Plate to create the most balanced meal you can. As you build your plate, try and find food items that you enjoy that can fit into each nutrient category. This will help you enjoy the food you’re eating while fueling your body for the day!
